The platform in close collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports provided both the technical and financial support to the development of Somalia’s first Youth, Peace, and Security – National Action Plan. The ministry of Youth and Sport has organized four consultations in four federal member states (Juballand, South West, Hirshabelle and Mogadishu). The primary objective of the (YPS – NAP) consultations was to gather input from diverse youth groups on their roles, challenges, and opportunities in peacebuilding, security, and community development in Somalia. A total of 298 youth participated (200 Male and 98 female) and contributed to the consultations.
